SPECIALISSIMA DISC ULTEGRA DI2 8100 BIKE INFORMATION
The Bianchi Specialissima has long been the premier road bike for elite Bianchi riders. It has finally been updated to include disc brakes while simultaneously becoming even lighter. It remains incredibly rigid for outstanding power transfer and high speeds despite the focus on low weight. The Specialissima also does a great job of eliminating road vibrations and keeping a stable and controlled ride. The biggest change to the new frame is that the tubes are more aero focused than ever, helping it keep up with the current state of high level road cycling. This version is also equipped with a Shiano Ultegra Di2 12-speed groupset for high-level road shifting at a lower price. The Bianchi Specialissima still boasts the same classic base that riders love, but with updated enhancements appropriate for the 2021 tour.
The frame of the Specialissima is incredibly lightweight thanks to an efficient carbon fiber construction. The frame weighs in at about 750 grams, cutting about 30 grams from the already lightweight rim brake version. This makes the Specialissima one of the premier climbers, regardless of what other bikes are on the road. In addition to this outstanding climbing ability, the carbon construction is more rigid than ever, making it a capable sprinter as well. While the Specialissima is certainly still a climber’s bike, Bianchi made the geometry and tube shape a bit more aero optimized. It cuts through the wind like never before without having to sacrifice any weight, giving riders the best of both worlds.
Bianchi used their Countervail (CV) technology on the Specialissima to assure proper rider comfort and vibration dissipation throughout a long ride. Insertions of a special viscoelastic material help deal with the natural vibrations of the road that can take away from power transfer from the rider to the bike overtime. With the help of Countervail, riders can be sure that every watt they crank into the Specialissima is processed directly into power. The elimination of vibration through the frame also keeps the rider’s muscles from absorbing those vibrations, keeping them fresher for longer. Enhanced endurance of course means enhanced speed over time. The new Bianchi Specialissima is a classic superbike updated for modern day dominance.
